Incubus, John Mayer Releasing Live DVDs
Just one day before the one-year anniversary of the new album Light Grenades, the rock band Incubus is releasing a live concert DVD. Fresh from their worldwide tour promoting their newest album, Look Alive includes new tunes as well as fan favorites like Megalomaniac—but sadly, no Drive cameo, despite this track being one of the band’s most recognizable sounds. The DVD includes a companion CD filled with accompanying tracks as well as a few bonus tunes.
Also included on the DVD is bonus footage of guitarist Mike Einzinger’s carpel tunnel syndrome treatment (for Incubus’ medical fans, maybe?). The live album goes for about $12 over at Sony Music’s website.
Not to be outdone, John Mayer announced a few days ago plans to videotape his upcoming Los Angeles show at the brand-new Nokia Theatre. The show, a charity gig on December 8th, will be Johnny’s latest DVD release since his 2002 album Any Given Thursday, shot in Alabama. The setlist hasn’t been announced just yet, but you can be sure it will include tracks from last year’s album Continuum as well as covers from John’s blues heroes. It’s also still unclear whether the DVD will have a companion CD, but for fans who can’t wait to hear some of John’s live and stripped stuff, there’s always concert singles and acoustic sets over on iTunes.
