Former Good Day Sacramento Studios Robbed
Remember the good ol’ days of Good Day Sacramento? For eleven years, the show was hosted at a studio near Natomas before moving to a new section of the CBS13 building on KOVR Drive across from the IKEA in West Sacramento. The old Good Day studio always shared a building with a Spanish radio station—now, the entire building is owned by Spanish radio giant Bustos Media.
Yesterday, Bustos Media was robbed of nearly $50,000 in computer and radio equipment. As Tony Lopez of CBS13 reports, a man broke in and stole plasma TV sets, CD equipment, microphones, laptops and more over a two hour period. Before breaking into the building, the man smashed into a vehicle owned by the radio station—the alarm for the vehicle went off, while no alarm went off in the building.
Police are asking the media not to show a close-up of the man out of fear that it will compromise their case—Lopez reports this likely means the law is close to nabbing the crook. As for Bustos, they are calling this robbery a major loss. Spanish radio stations present the fastest-growing radio format in the country—out of the robbed offices of Bustos, the media giant runs 25 stations for California, Utah and Oregon. Locally, Bustos owns KTTA 97.9FM out of Esparto, California as well as KSTV 32, a low-power television station that provides Azteca American affiliated programming to Sacramento.
In my past life, I was a tree or something. If not a tree, something that grew old and didn't move very much. I'm pretty convinced of this.

“Good Day Sacramento” looks like it was a fun show. I hope they catch the thief. Just have too wonder how he had so much time to do the crime… especially with a car alarm blaring in the background.
By the way Matthew.. saw U23D yesterday.. it was AWESOME!!!!

@Coll: Car alarms are only for the deterrent of theft (hence why they’re called an anti-theft deterrent). They don’t remain on after the car has been broken into…at the most, maybe five minutes. As for GDS, it is indeed a fun show. I know a handful of people who work for the station and appear on the show and they are just the greatest people in the world.
(I edited your comment above to include the changes you e-mailed me about. U23D does look like fun. I’m such a bad little music blogger…I still haven’t seen the show)
