Exclusive: Paul Robins Shows Off New Grandson

August 22nd, 2008 Posted in California, Local Media, Sacramento, Special Interest

For the first time ever, meet Sacramento’s most-anticipated baby of this year.

As host of the “Paul and Lori” morning program on the old KGBY 92.5FM Sacramento, Paul Robins would often brag about the excitement surrounding his expected grandchild. Two months before his daughter gave birth, Paul was asked to leave the station along with co-host Lori Sacco, the result of Clear Channel’s restructuring of KGBY to a new music format.

Paul was unable to share the joy of his grandson’s birth in February. Now, the photos are here for the world to see.

“My handsome grandson’s name is Luther,” Paul writes. “He’s actually hanging out at my house for a couple of days right now. I got the last diaper before bedtime tonight.”

Paul’s oldest daughter had the baby a little off-schedule. Back in February, Paul mentioned that his daughter was due on the 23rd of that month. “My oldest daughter’s due date was yesterday, and still no grandson,” he wrote. “My wife and I have an overnight bag in the trunk of the car and my cell phone is never far from me.”

Now almost six months old, Luther is a bouncing bundle of joy. “Cute is only part of the package,” Paul writes. “In person, he’s just a really nice little guy.”

As for an update as to what Paul is doing?

“I’ll officially defer (elsewhere) for any updates,” Paul says. While it’s unclear what Paul will be doing in the future, his past work in the Sacramento area is extensive. Aside from working with well-known colleague Phil Cowan, who was also asked last year to leave Sacramento radio, Paul has appeared in corporate videos for various companies including Levi Strauss and the California Highway Patrol. His biography also sports running the Boston Marathon twice and raising over a quarter-million dollars for the “Food For Families” charity.

I’m glad you’re keeping track of this. I still wonder where he’ll end up.

(Welcome back to blogging by the way)

But if Mr. Robins should read this congrats on the new grandson (I’m not sure I’m secure enough in my masculinity to say how adorable he is but there’s no doubt, it’s a cute kid)

Not quite sure what “I’ll officially defer (elsewhere) for any updates” means to be honest but what can you do.

Congrats to Paul and his bride of many years! Grandparenting is such a joy. You have a handsome grandson with a wonderful smile and beautiful eyes. He is a blessing and to be treasured.

Good to know that someone is keeping up on Paul’s whereabouts. Paul, we miss you terribly on the air, you were a ray of sunshine among so many foul mouthed, unethical and immoral schmucks! I recently heard you filling in on an AM station and was happy to know you were still in the area. Hope you remain here.

Best to Paul and his wonderful family; God has indeed blessed you.

Radio Mathew guy, Thanks so much for keeping tabs on what Paul is doing. I have really missed his humor, and have often wondered what happened to him and about his new grandson. He is adorable!!!

Paul, you deserve all the best life has to give, and my heart is happy to know that you have a job again.

I live in PA now, so I can’t see the new show…I sure wish I could.

We have a 3 year old grandson, and he is the light of my life! That little one of yours looks so sweet! Your life will just get better and better now with that little guy in it.

Best of luck to you in all that you do. Thanks for being there and making our days start with a smile.

A fan for life, Alice Hileman
