Domino’s Pizza Allows Ordering & Tracking Online

January 30th, 2008 Posted in Online, Technology

Retailers have Christmas to boost sales; pizza delivery companies have Super Bowl Sunday. Domino’s Pizza is kicking things up a notch—now you can order and track your pizza delivery online.

Today, Domino’s unveiled Pizza Tracker, a piece of online technology that accurately reports where your pie is within forty seconds of accuracy. According to USA Today, the tracker will display the name of the person who took your order, where your pizza is (from the oven to the box) and the name of the driver delivering the pizza. It’s Domino’s way of letting you know they haven’t forgotten about your pizza.

Rival Pizza Hut allows for placing orders online and gives customers an estimated time of when their pizza will arrive, but Domino’s kicks its online presence up a notch. Customers who are tracking their pizza order online will be allowed to rate the person who takes their order as well as the person who delivers the pizza—Domino’s assures that negative comments will be investigated.

The tracking service launched today in over 3,000 Domino’s restaurants, and will be available in all Domino’s locations by June.
