Crystal Meth Documentary To Air On All Sac TV Stations

March 25th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized

A thirty-minute program highlighting the dangers of crystal meth use will air on every television station in Sacramento tomorrow.

Crystal Darkness is a documentary produced by Global Studio in association with Childhelp and Secret Witness which exposes the epidemic of crystal meth use among the nation’s youth in urban cities across America.

“The story is told through the powerful testimonies of young people who have gone through the dark and lonely depths of Meth addiction,” according to the Crystal Darkness website. “With heart wrenching and raw honesty, they speak to their generation with an unforgettable message of warning.”

The documentary will air on every major Sacramento TV station, including KCRA 3, KXTV 10, KOVR 13, KMAX 31 and KQCA 58, at 6:30PM Wednesday night. While the program is available in a Spanish version, it will not air on any of the Sacramento Spanish stations. In addition, KVIE 6 will continue to air normal PBS programming during the simulcast.

The Crystal Darkness campaign will hold future television airings in Albuquerque, New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; Phoenix, Arizona; San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Reno, Nevada. Major television stations in those markets will carry the program simultaneously. A telephone number has been established for viewers to call-in with questions or comments following the program in every market, including Sacramento.
