Music Video Monday: Car Crash
I’m not sure why the picture is really thin in this video (preparing for the future of wide-widescreen television?), but the song is absolutely amazing. Tinkering around with screen technology as seen in “Somebody Told Me” from The Killers and “Speed of Sound” from Coldplay is folk singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson, whose lateset single is entitled “Car Crash.”
I’ve been a fan of Matt’s work since his indie debut album Beneath These Fireworks which spawned a not-too-well-known single “I Saw.” The single got coverage on a few WB Network shows, as well as a couple of radio stations here and there, but overall didn’t touch the adult alternative world.
Matt’s hoping to change that with this latest album Some Mad Hope. A more mature (both physically and musically) guitarist is exposed with twelve new breath-taking, emotion-filled tracks in this new album, which has already receive some national radio play on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. The entire album was produced in a Cotati, California house not too far away from Sacramento. So, if anything, check out this album (and his website) to hear a little local flare.
In my past life, I was a tree or something. If not a tree, something that grew old and didn't move very much. I'm pretty convinced of this.
