On Red Trees
Every morning for the past week, I’ve woken up early in the morning, walked downstairs to my dining room, set up my computer, and waited for my e-mail (with its dozens of messages per day) to download. As I wait for these e-mails to download, I stare outside the glass patio doors at this red tree that sits on hospital property. The brightness and boldness of the red changes depending on the sun’s location throughout the day, but it sure is appealing to to eye to look at. I’ve been meaning to take a picture of it over the past few days—I’ve just been too lazy to do it.
Earlier today, I joined a blog networking website called BlogCatalog.com. As I was cruising through the listings, I noticed a lot of people had Lori’s blog listed on their blogrolls or in their “neighborhoods” (which are little collaborations of friends and blogs). I picked out about six or so that I felt like reading up on and added them to my Google Reader. That means six new people are getting a comment from some strange guy out in Northern California who they’ve never heard of (if that’s you, um…hi).
Oh, speaking of Google, I tried Google Desktop for Mac. Wasn’t impressed at all—a completely creepy application that totally slowed down my PowerBook G4. Plus, it felt utterly pointless to use—more pointless than Google’s Easter Bunny game. It wasn’t too long before I uninstalled it off the machine.
