Kids Day Is Here Again

September 30th, 2007

This weekend, the Zone Patrol had no remote broadcasts, which means I had an entire weekend off!

This upcoming week, the Zone Patrol will be busy selling the annual Sacramento Bee special edition for Kids Day 2007. Find us, or several of our happy volunteers including the guys over at CBS 13, selling newspapers for $1.00, with 75 cents of every purchase going directly to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Each copy of the newspaper sold will include an insert showcasing the Shriners Hospitals and its special programs and personal triumphs. So if you see yours truly or any of the Sac Bee Power Teams on a street corner along your route to work, stop and donate a dollar in exchange for an awesome edition of your local newspaper.

Two more things before I go: The 11th Annual Exotic Zone Ball will be held at Cal Expo this year on Saturday, October 27th. There will be TONS of events and a great cash prize for the best costume. You can purchase tickets from Tickets.com, but why spend money on tickets when you can win them for free? If you’re over 21, here’s your inside scoop on how you can win tickets to the Exotic Zone Ball: There will be twenty chances to snatch two free tickets—once during each of the DJs shifts (the Breakfast Club in the morning, Monica Lowe during midday, Keith Brooks for the drive home and Lil Cee during the night) every workday this week starting Monday. If you’re a part of the Zone VIP Club, you get TWO pair of tickets instead of one, for a total of four tickets to the hottest, sexiest Halloween party in Sacramento! To check out all the fun from last year’s Exotic Zone Ball, check out Conrado’s set on Flickr.

Also starting on Monday, we’ll be announcing the newest artist or band to make his/her/their way to the Zone Lounge along with ways you can win tickets. To check out photos from our last Zone Lounge artists (James Blunt and Collective Soul), click here.
