Simpsons Movie
Saw “The Simpsons Movie” tonight with Ninja Jim at the Regal Cinema in Davis. What a good movie—totally not what I expected it to be, but a very good theatrical adaptation of the TV show. The movie is rated PG-13, possibly for a brief three-second shot of frontal nudity and one of the main characters throwing the finger. You’ll laugh so much at the movie that you’ll miss out on a little bit of the dialogue.
And that’s contrary to what the Kansas City Star is saying. Their review reads that the Simpsons Movie uses jokes that “seem forced” and that the writing in the last two-thirds of the movie was dull, “as if the creators reached the show’s usual 22-minute mark and ran out of gas.” But then again, consider that this review is coming out of Kansas City, whose state got an honorable mention in a recent Family Guy episode.
In my past life, I was a tree or something. If not a tree, something that grew old and didn't move very much. I'm pretty convinced of this.
