Summerthing Recap

There’s something about San Francisco lately that just screams, “Wear sunscreen!” Ninja Jim and I didn’t yield that warning, and we came back from Alice’s Summerthing concert with sunburns on our faces, necks and arms. The sunburn on my arm was really painful—three days later, it still stings when I get in the shower, and my nose has started peeling. Yuck.

But it was totally worth it. Since I’m not very coordinated with the traffic in San Francisco, we spent about twenty minutes driving around Golden Gate Park before we realised we were driving around Golden Gate Park. Next challenge was parking. Between the event and where we parked the car was about a twenty minute walk. We missed Mat Kearney, but got there in time to see Everclear and Smash Mouth.

After the bands had ended, Jim and I were walking back to the car when I saw this huge husky. This dog was bigger than most small children—I couldn’t believe the size! I asked the owner if I could snap a picture of him:

The weather was beautiful, the music was great, the food was awesome and the atmosphere was amazing. Despite the sunburn, this year’s Summerthing was better than last year.
