Economics class—it’s a place where you learn the fundamentals of business. The driving force behind society in terms of “work for money”. Making and breaking of ingenuity through structure. Graphs and charts that measure human error or triumph (what’s life on earth but a man’s seventy-year experimentation and journey?)

I was sitting in class the other day, writing on a piece of paper with a pen that had a business name and number stamped on it. It says a lot about a business to be able to afford advertising space on pens—that one, in particular, had said Trammel Roofing and offers a phone number. It makes me wonder where the point is that an organization stops to wonder what business would be like if their name was stamped across a pen.

I wonder if Enron had pens, and how much they’d go for on eBay.
